Impressions
- For this book being a realistic fiction piece I was impressed. It shared experiences that could possibly occur in someones life. The different lifestyles the two girls live is definitely an obvious experience. Ivy June being more from the country and living in a smaller home where Catherine lives in a large home with different amenities available to them. As they both run into family emergencies that affect them personally it also shows how friends can be such a great support. Two strangers become best friends through the things they encounter together all through a simple exchange student program.

Library Use
- This book is a great way to share how students can be open with others or themselves. Since the characters in the story do daily journals, it can help those who have difficulty expressing themselves. Encouraging students to write about things or how they feel. Share and tell, which allows students to share with their journal how they are doing and they can share with a partner if they like or leave it in their journal focusing on expressing themselves.
