Module
3: Last Stop at Market Place
Book Summary
- This book really illustrate the things going on in the story well. The ride on the bus
through town that the little boy didn't really want to go on at first.
However, as he saw the things he passed through town and the encounters
he had on the bus and his grandma said if he wasn't here he wouldn't be able
to enjoy all of it. As the bus brought them to their final stop, it was
unclear at first where they were headed. The part of town was not as
clean or appealing. He stepped into a shelter where he helped his
grandma feed those who came for food. He was happy that his grandma took
him even if he didn't feel like it at first.

Impressions
- This story had a great message overall. The images and the use of the environment to portral the story made it even more engaging. Sometimes we don't want to follow where our parents are taking us. But when we get there it is a different feeling. This book showed that feeling we get very well. The use of the environment to show the difference of where the boy was going from the city to the inner city where it was bot well kept. It provides the reader with good visuals and connection to the emotion of the characters. When the boy was eventually happy with following it made it even more realistic and a better connection reading the story.

Library Use
- This is a great book to do an activity on how you can help others in the community. Work on a community outreach activity school wide or in individual classes. Use web organizers to think of things that could help those in the community and plan out the activity.
