5: Princess Academy
Book Summary
- In a small village the Prince from the palace would visit to look for someone to marry. To prepare for his arrival the villagers had all the ladies who were able to wed the prince participate in some classes. One of the girls named Miri did not want to be with the Prince but had no choice but to participate in the class. As she went through the class she learned new things about her village and kept it to inform them. However, before the Prince arrived there were trepassers who came to the school in search for the Prince. Miri had to find a way to safe herself and the others.

Impressions
- This story was very exciting. It is very similar to the Princess Fairy Tales that many children are familiar with but with a Prince and a twist. It shows the importance of reading and looking into the history of where you live which is what Miri did. As well as finding ways to get a community to work together something is going wrong. This story really showed how different it can be when living far away and what priorities are among those who are villagers and outsiders.

Library Use
- This story is a good story to do a compare and contrast activity to a popular Disney Fairy Tale many students probably know about. To introduce the Venn Diagram.
