Module 9: Once I Ate a Pie

Module 9: Once I Ate a Pie

Book Summary
- These cute fur balls share a little about themselves as the story is read. Each dog introduces themselves and gives a description about things they do or like.

APA Reference
- MacLachlan P. (2010). Once I ate a pie. Harpercollins Childrens Books.

Impressions
- I enjoyed this story. It provided good descriptions for the poetry and can be used as an example for the class. The flow of the book goes well since it does not necessarily pause when each dog is described. The illustrations are funny and cute. Since puppies are loved by many this is a great piece to share with others.

Professional Review
- Constantinides, J. (2006). Once I ate a pie. School Library Journal, 52(5), 114-115.

Library Use
- Great way to introduce descriptive poetry. After the story have students write their own descriptive poem and share with the class.
